How to develop self confidence

I wish I could tell you that you can fix your self confidence issues overnight, I really wish I could but it I did, I'd be lying. If you want me to be completely honest, facing down and winning the battle with your insecurities is tough, quitting drugs tough. And like quitting drugs, ditching insecurity is going to take some time and rehabilitation.

Identifying your insecurities -

One of the best first steps to take on your path to confidence is finding out what your insecurities actually are. In order to do this, go through your day normal as all ways. While you're doing it, monitor all the little thoughts that pop into your noggin.

After a little while you'll realize something, it's all most like this voice in the back of your head is all ways saying things to make you uncomfortable. It's the living with out elementary school bully except now they live in your head and annoy you 27/4.

This little voice will say things that make you regret things, remind you of events you'd rather not relive, it just plain out tries to make you feel like crap. And if you listen to it, you will start to think those thoughts all the time.

For now, just go through your day monitoring every time this voice puts a negative thought in your head. Every time you get a negative thought, write it down and put it in your pocket. Save all the pieces of paper until you get home for the day. At the end of the day read it out loud and rip it up. For better results read the paper out loud and then say, You're Wrong, followed by whatever the opposite of what the note said. Do this every day.

Talking it over and chipping away insecurities -

After you've gotten comfortable with your insecurities, try to go the next step. Talk to the person really close to you about your problem. Sometimes our insecurities won't allow us to do it. If that's the case tell random people on the internet. Just get it off your chest to some other human being.

Every day try to do something small that makes you feel really insecure. Just do it. Don't think about it, don't talk to yourself and prep yourself. Just do it. The second you hesitate your inner bully will eat you alive.

The whole idea is to take one small thing that makes you insecure and do it. After you're done you'll realize that you're still alive and nothing bad happened. Just keep working at it. At first you won't do much more than say hello to a stranger. After all a person needs a little excitement in their life every now and again.

Own your mistake don't let them own you -

Mistakes happen no matter what. They're completely natural. The next time you make one, remind yourself that you're only human. Don't let your mistakes get you down. Laugh them off and try it again. Just because you made a mistake doesn't make you a failure. Just keep going.

Understand that you're awesome

No matter how you feel now, you should realize that you are one amazing human being. If you find yourself not believing it, then think of a bunch of things that you're good at. What do people like about you. Tell yourself out loud that it's ok to take pride in your abilities.

When you succeed with something celebrate it. Even if celebrating it means a nice snack from the vending machine, just do something out of the ordinary.

Several Great Advantages Of Being Confident In Yourself

Creating and Maintaining Relationships

Having confidence in yourself is one of the more important parts of creating and maintaining a good relationship. When you meet someone new, you have to impress the other person enough that they become inclined to know more about what makes you tick.

Do you think someone really wants to meet and learn about some guy/girl that mopes around feeling bad for themselves all the time? Someone that makes negative remarks about anything they're asked about?

But having confidence can also help you, once you've all ready established the relationship. Self confidence keeps you up beat and positive and ready to take on whatever life has to throw at you. This type of personality is all most like a magnet for people. If you stay positive and enjoyable you'll quickly notice that people are willing to spend a lot more time and attention on you. Which funny enough, promotes even more confidence to take on this crazy thing we call life.

Succeeding At Your Job

When you believe in yourself and set goals throughout the work day, you will quickly begin to realize just how much you can get done. You will say something and accomplish it. You will believe in your abilities to get the job done. When something unforseen arises, you will quickly think of ways that will fix the problem. You will make it a point to fix things and speak up when you think something can be done better. You will be able to handle criticism and even let it make you a better person all thanks to a simple concept called believing in yourself.

When you start excelling at your work, your bosses will take note and watch your progress. When you speak up with your ideas, eventually one will get through and will work. If your superiors criticize your ideas you will just shrug it off and start modifying your idea so the next time they can't criticize it.

There are a million different ways that increasing your confidence can help you excell at your job. How you utilize this newfound confidence will be solely up to you and you alone. And you're going to make the best of it!

Life in General

Life usually has a funny way of throwing things that you didn't expect your way. Most of us out in the real world ask, "Why is this happening to me?"

But a person that has a great self image will say, "Really life, is that all the challenge you can give me?"

They will take each obstacle as a challenge to make themselves better. They believe that they have the ability to take on this "challenge" head on and come out successful and better for going through it.

They accept that life isn't all ways cherry blossoms and pony rides and a lot of the times, they'll be the one's with the short end of the stick.

So what's the difference between a confident person and non-confident person?

Well first off, life will throw them for a loop and they will spend many a sleepless nights beating themselves up over circumstances that were typically out of their control. They let the fear of failing at this obstacle rule their life and their actions.

Now which type of person do you think has a better chance at achieving their life's goal?

The person that sees a obstacle as a challenge that can easily be achieved with the right idea.

Or

The person that lets the obstacle rule their life beating themselves over how it will be impossible to surpass it.

For example:
Your marriage falls apart

A confident person says, "OK, it happened. I'm a great person, I don't deserve to be miserable about getting a divorce, I'm going to go do this or that"

A person without confidence says, "Why me, why this, why now? I will never be able to get over this."

If all the things I've said about confidence so far seems like a great thing then you just have to remember this one line.

Believe in your abilities.
