Passing Obstacles On Your Journey To Success
With a high self esteem you believe in your abilities to achieve your goals that you set for yourself. You see the goal at the end of the road and you start your journey towards accomplishing it. Since this isn't a perfect world, there will be many times that obstacles and unforseen circumstances will hinder your progress but your confidence will help you stay inspired to keep trying to reach your goal.
Creating and Maintaining Relationships
Having confidence in yourself is one of the more important parts of creating and maintaining a good relationship. When you meet someone new, you have to impress the other person enough that they become inclined to know more about what makes you tick.
Do you think someone really wants to meet and learn about some guy/girl that mopes around feeling bad for themselves all the time? Someone that makes negative remarks about anything they're asked about?
But having confidence can also help you, once you've all ready established the relationship. Self confidence keeps you up beat and positive and ready to take on whatever life has to throw at you. This type of personality is all most like a magnet for people. If you stay positive and enjoyable you'll quickly notice that people are willing to spend a lot more time and attention on you. Which funny enough, promotes even more confidence to take on this crazy thing we call life.
Succeeding At Your Job
When you believe in yourself and set goals throughout the work day, you will quickly begin to realize just how much you can get done. You will say something and accomplish it. You will believe in your abilities to get the job done. When something unforseen arises, you will quickly think of ways that will fix the problem. You will make it a point to fix things and speak up when you think something can be done better. You will be able to handle criticism and even let it make you a better person all thanks to a simple concept called believing in yourself.
When you start excelling at your work, your bosses will take note and watch your progress. When you speak up with your ideas, eventually one will get through and will work. If your superiors criticize your ideas you will just shrug it off and start modifying your idea so the next time they can't criticize it.
There are a million different ways that increasing your confidence can help you excell at your job. How you utilize this newfound confidence will be solely up to you and you alone. And you're going to make the best of it!
Life in General
Life usually has a funny way of throwing things that you didn't expect your way. Most of us out in the real world ask, "Why is this happening to me?"
But a person that has a great self image will say, "Really life, is that all the challenge you can give me?"
They will take each obstacle as a challenge to make themselves better. They believe that they have the ability to take on this "challenge" head on and come out successful and better for going through it.
They accept that life isn't all ways cherry blossoms and pony rides and a lot of the times, they'll be the one's with the short end of the stick.
So what's the difference between a confident person and non-confident person?
Well first off, life will throw them for a loop and they will spend many a sleepless nights beating themselves up over circumstances that were typically out of their control. They let the fear of failing at this obstacle rule their life and their actions.
Now which type of person do you think has a better chance at achieving their life's goal?
The person that sees a obstacle as a challenge that can easily be achieved with the right idea.
Or
The person that lets the obstacle rule their life beating themselves over how it will be impossible to surpass it.
For example:
Your marriage falls apart
A confident person says, "OK, it happened. I'm a great person, I don't deserve to be miserable about getting a divorce, I'm going to go do this or that"
A person without confidence says, "Why me, why this, why now? I will never be able to get over this."
If all the things I've said about confidence so far seems like a great thing then you just have to remember this one line.
Believe in your abilities.
